Hair Transplant Technology

Famous Hair Transplants For the first time in history, hair transplant began in 1822 with J. Dieffenbach in Wiirzburg, Germany. In the beginning, he was investigating autotransplant hair, feathers, and skin in animals with quite successful results, compared to 19th-century technology. After his studies, it looks like there was no one to study in this area for a while, until the 1930s. In 1939, the Japanese dermatologist, Dr. Okuda used autografts to refresh different types of alopecias in the scalp, eyebrows, and mustache.

Although his studies were followed by Dr. Tamura, who studied on correcting female pubic hair, these studies were not strong enough to be accepted by most of the population. In addition to these slowly moving studies, the eruption of World War II events made them forgotten for a while. However, studies of big names like Dr. Orentreich and Dr. O’Tar Norwood from Europe, helped hair transplant technology to reach almost today’s view.

Then, in 1995, Drs. Bernstein and Rassman made their final modern touch in this area, with Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). The technique called Follicular Unit Transplantation is based on using stereo microscopic graft dissection to gather follicular units from a donor strip. Although it was exposed a great skepticism and resistance from many people, in time, it became a mainstream hair transplant technology around the world, with its building developments.

Today, millions of people around the world suffer from hair loss at some point in their life. Although it is mostly seen in men (almost 3 out of 4 in population), a lot of women also struggle with this issue. Famous people, as they are human beings too, might experience hair loss due to various kinds of reasons. However, today a growing number of famous people as artists, actors, footballers, or musicians, have hair transplants and inspire many people from several countries.

Even Famous Oscar Winners

Matthew McConaughey, a great actor who is known for movies and tv shows like Interstellar (2014), True Detective (2014), and Dallas Buyers Club (2013) that made him win Oscar (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role), hasn’t always got his flowing locks. But unlike many famous people, his hair loss began his popularity in movies and tv shows, in 1999. As a Hollywood star who had to keep his look at a certain appearance, he decided to have a hair transplant as well as other cosmetics.

After having a successful operation anyway, he never admitted that he had a hair transplant, even there is a quite difference between his old and current photos. Although a lot of people say that hair loss is not a thing to shame, and talent is definitely independent of how an actor looks, perhaps he just wanted to be talked only with his talent.

Films

Another great actor and filmmaker, also known for his Oscar-winning movies, Mystic River (2003) and Milk (2008), is the one who had a hair transplant and never admitted as well. Because there is no official explanation by him, which technique he had chosen or when did he implement this operation is unknown, but it is obvious that his thinning hair in the past looks very great recently.

However, his transplant operation is so successful that it is possible if his thinning hair photos didn’t exist, no one would ever understand and his hair would probably seem more natural than now. Still, as a 60-year-old man who is married to beautiful Australian / American actress Leila George D’Onofrio since 30th July 2020, he looks like he got elder naturally in a charismatic way, and without a doubt, his current look inspired many men who suffer from this issue.

Successful Famous Women Hair Refreshment

As we indicated above, hair loss is not a unique problem for men; a lot of women also suffer from mostly female type hair loss in their life. One of the successful examples from women’s hair refreshment is Jennifer Aniston, who is known by popular tv show Friends (1994 – 2004). As she was playing a lead role who had a marginal unique hairstyle (Rachel), she had to use a lot of cosmetic products. After the role, her haircut was even named by her name, “the Rachel”, and became very popular among many people.

However, it could be said that this unique appearance had a cost; experts indicate that due to numerous amount of cosmetic products, her hair might be damaged badly. In time, with her hair shedding turned out a severe problem, she decided to have a hair transplant operation. Thankfully, she had a successful operation and today, she still enjoys her inspiring, legendary hairstyle.

Women’s Hair Refreshment

Another woman actress as a successful example from women’s hair refreshment is Kristin Davis, who is known for the famous tv show, Sex, and the City. As she was playing a beautiful character, Charlotte York, she began to realize her hair started to shed. In a magazine called Women’s Wear Daily, she indicated this situation as “My hair just was not what it used to be.” Like many other men or women do in this kind of situation, she tried to deny and focus on other aspects of her life.

But one day, when she wanted to shape her hair the way she would like to, she realized that she hadn’t much hair left. After that, she discovered Volarie’s hair-volumizing cosmetic, with her own words “she fell in love” and she made progress in a short time. Today she is 55 years old and looks fascinating with her new, refreshed hair.

“You Know, You’re Starting to Lose Your Hair, Dear”

Louis Walsh, a member of the judging panel in the famous tv show “X-Factor” is another celebrity who had a hair transplant recently. It looks like his transplant story began in one of X-Factor’s final episodes, in which he was with Kelly Rowland, Simon Cowell, and Gary Barlow. When Simon pointed out his head and indicated “You know, you’re starting to lose your hair, dear” he denied at first.

But then, with the recommendation of his friends, he decided to have a hair transplant and had a successful operation which was carried out by extracting the follicles under stereoscopic microscopes (the technique called Ultra Refined Follicular Unit Transplantation [URFUT] ). So that, his change was realized easily by anyone, even he says “It takes about a year to fully come through.” Today, he is very happy with the results, and some rumors say that he has given his clinic’s number to another member of the judging panel, Gary Barlow.
