Chris Evans Hair Loss Treatment

Hair loss affects millions of men today in various aspects of their lives; according to the report of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, men who had hair transplants cited “social/dating” (37%) and “career/professional” (35%) as two of the most important reasons behind his operations. 29 – 40% of men today face up with male pattern hair loss worldwide, and their shedding mostly doesn’t even reveal when they become getting old. In the same report, the people who had hair transplants over a few years increased by 60 percent.

Although there are numerous ways to refresh hair (using cosmetic products, wigs, or shaving bald simply), it appears that a lot of people choose to have hair transplants, and a considerable amount of these people are celebrities. As David Shusterman said “As an actor loses hair, they lose work,” or the one famous dermatologist who mostly treats celebrities in the UK indicated “…they come to my office on a weekly basis.” Also, it is said by numerous magazines that some celebrities who don’t suffer from male pattern alopecia (or the ones whose hair don’t start shedding yet) have their hair transplants.

Cosmetic Product and Wig

In fact, methods of using cosmetic products or wigs would not solve the problem in long term, if you want to solve baldness permanently, the only way you can do is having a hair transplant. Hair transplant technology has changed since Drs. Bernstein and Rassman developed Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) which are two of the most chosen methods worldwide. To take follicular units from donor strips, FUE and FUT utilize stereo-microscopic graft dissection is different from other techniques.

About hair transplant operation, Hollywood’s one of the most popular hair restoration doctors, Craig Ziering indicated that having a hair transplant makes a person appear 10 plus years younger. Currently, expert dermatologists indicate they have been studying progenitor cells used to regrow dead follicles, which make balding hair grow. Although they are carrying out experiments on mice, with the help of robot-assisted studies, these developments are not unlikely to be seen in the future.

Bald, Superior Human

One of the growing numbers of celebrities who have their hair transplants is Chris Evans, also known as Captain America of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series of films. He began his career with Tv series such as “Opposite Sex” (2000), “Not Another Teen Movie”, and his fame rose with the character Human Torch in the “Fantastic Four” movie series. Then, with his role as Captain America in “Captain America” movie series (2011 – 2016), and “the Avengers” movie series (2015 – 2019) he became one of the highest-paid actors in the world. Another feature of Evan is, although he is 39 years old now, he looks much younger than that (he even played in a teen movie called “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” when he was 30 years old and he suited well). However, he was suffering from severe male pattern hair loss and that was damaging his “young appearance” and self-esteem.

Being A Bald Actor

Unlike many celebrities, he was very open about his condition; at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, he told E! News “I have no problem saying this, but I’m losing my hair.” His concerns mostly focused on the idea of “being a bald actor” is not suit the superhero image well. He added: “I’m supposed to be like this superior human. He can’t be balding. How horrible would it be if this superior man has male pattern baldness?” However, most people who saw all Marvel movies that he took part in indicating that they did not even focus on his hair, they just didn’t realize.

But the aforementioned statements have no effect on his views toward himself; apparently, his hair is too important for his appearance in both his social life and movie sector. Indeed, experts indicate that psychological sensitivity behind male pattern hair loss could be more than widely known; it could damage one’s self-esteem. Remember British actor James Nesbitt’s statement “I felt it could affect my career” and Jacob Quickenden’s statement after surgery “I want to get married with hair.”

“I can do this all day!”

When Chris announced his hair loss condition, he was 32 years old; 7 years passed since he said “I’m losing my hair” but it looks like he still has the same hair which he had 7 years ago. When we put his Avengers and Captain America appearance aside, he played 4 movies since then: “Gifted” (2017), “Knives Out” (2019), and his last work “Defending Jacob” (2020). In all these relatively fresh movies, his head appeared with full hair and his performance in these 3 movies was very successful.

He hasn’t announced any official explanation yet but many experts, including famous dermatologists, indicate that he must have had a hair transplant because his hair looks more intense and strong than before. In fact, Chris makes these kinds of speculations harder because he is a man who keeps his private life secret (he doesn’t even have an Instagram account); still, some hard fans also confirm his strong hair.

Captain America

Whether he had a hair transplant, or used cosmetic treatments, without a doubt, he looks more charismatic than before and it appears that he still keeps his “young” image compared to men his age (39). Also, it doesn’t matter if he announces or continues to be silent; it is obvious, something had changed in his hair. Perhaps, like many celebrities, he didn’t want to be a focal point by his hair refreshment in the spotlight, he just wanted to be memorialized as “Captain America”. Still, it was very brave of him to tell that he had started losing his hair before; many of them didn’t even do this much.

This bravery also reminds us of worldwide famous football player Wayne Rooney, he had announced his hair loss too, and the surgery: “I was going bald at 25, why not? I’m delighted with the result.” Maybe in the nearest future, Chris too, explains how he has gotten treatment and fight with alopecia as he had fought in movies as Captain America: “I can do this all day!”
