How to Prepare the for FUE Method. More than 35 million men all around the world have male pattern baldness. Nowadays, the number of hair transplant operations is increasing. The most preferred technics is the FUE method. So, how can we prepare for the FUE?

What is the FUE Method?

The FUE method is the best option for people who suffer from the baldness problem to obtain permanent results for hair shedding. The method ensures a natural-looking appearance. Like other type operations, it is significant that experienced surgeons who specialized in the hair transplant operation have to be preferred. Besides, it would be best if you understood the potential risks and probable benefits before the operation.

The most commonly used method for people who suffer from a baldness problem is the FUE method (Follicular Unit Extractions). There are a few steps the patient has to follow to prepare for the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

How to Prepare the for FUE Method

Two Month Before

You must make sure that your doctor assesses your individual needs for the best results during the FUE preparation process.

Make sure that you book a hotel near the clinic.

Can ask a friend or family member to get you after the surgery.

You may stay at the hospital for at least one night after the transplant, so take into consideration it.

The patient shouldn’t shave or cut to the recipient area at least two months before the surgery. So, the surgeon will be able to see how your natural hair grows, and the incisions of the operation will be hidden in the patient’s hairline.

One Month Before

You should regularly do scalp exercises for one month, and it should be done every day 10 and 30 minutes. So, your tissue around the scalp will relax. The hair restoration will be performed easier because the exercise helps with blood flow and provide a faster recovery process.

You can take a blood test. Therefore, you can inform about your medical problems and medications your use before the hair transplant surgery. However, if you take beta-blockers, blood-thinning drug or anti-depressant, the surgeon must be informed because they may affect the recovery process.

Ten days Before

Ten days before the surgery in preparation for the FUE, don’t take a vitamin supplement (B and E), aspirin, or multivitamins. Besides, some medications may involve aspirin, so make sure not to contain aspirin because these vitamins may cause unnecessary bleeding in the new hair follicles area and make it harder for recovery time.

The medicines can be used three days after the hair transplant.

The vitamin can help the recovery process, so the patient can prefer to taking vitamin C 1000 to 2000mg a day for a week before the surgery.

Three Days Before

Three days before the surgery in preparation for the FUE, don’t drink any alcohol and smoke. Drinking alcohol may affect anesthesia efficiency and don’t smoking because smoking leads to decreased blood flow to the scalp. Besides, carbon monoxide reduces the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, which means it narrows down your blood vessels and reduces blood circulation. For these reasons, after the hair transplant, the recovery process may take a longer time. Smoking may cause the chances of the remaining scar on the head. Besides, the risk of infection will increase.

The doctor can give antibiotics to clear up the possible infection in your body, so the instructions must be listened to carefully.

The Surgery Day

Hair Lenght: Before the surgery, the entire scalp must be shaved. On the morning of the FUE method operation, the donor area will be shaved to 1mm in length. The surgeon cuts a limited area on the patient’s scalp, so after the surgery, the patient will cover up the shaving area.

Having a shower before the surgery is better because, after the FUE method, patients have to keep dry operation areas. Therefore, have a routine shower, wash your hair with your regular shampoo, and you shouldn’t use any products such as spray or gels products, except the shampoo and hair conditioner.

Rest well during preparation for the FUE method.

The local anesthesia will be applied in the surgery, but you can prefer an oral sedative to feel more relaxing.

The surgery takes between 4 or 12 hours, but the times depend on the number of hair follicles extracted and can change.

You should wear comfortable clothes, such as a shirt or a very wide collar T-shirt. It helps to avoid damage to the new hair follicles area. Besides, the recipient area will be sensitive after the surgery, so some new hair follicles may uproot if you touch the area.

If you use a postiche, remove it before the shampooing and don’t use it before the FUE method.

Have your daily breakfast, but don’t drink coffee or caffeinated beverages because of that these may lead to increase sensitivity to medications. The doctor will give an instruction that when you can eat or drink after the hair restoration.

Routinely medications you use, such as tension, heart, or blood pressure medication, should be taken unless otherwise specified.

You can listen to music, can watch a movie or series during the surgery to feel relaxed.

 During the Operation

The hair transplant with the FUE method is a relatively minor operation than others. The surgeon will help you to feel relaxed.

If you are still nervous, you can think that your life will completely change after the surgery, and you will have impressive new hair.

Remember other successful operations.

As soon as the doctor completes the transplant, you will see the improved hairline, so the new hair follicles start to grow quickly after the transplant. According to most people who had the transplant restoration, hair growth after almost six months can be expected, and the last outcome is visible almost after one year.

The preparation for the FUE is so important to obtain safe, natural, and permanent hair. Moreover, the patients must have enough healthy hair to transfer follicles to the affected area.
